  • A Word from Horizon
Security is everyone's responsibility! Reminder to all SummerWind residents - if you see someone trespassing (someone who does not belong in the complex) please contact the Torrance Police Department at 310-328-3456 immediately. This INCLUDES the pool areas - if you live by one of the pools, your help is needed to protect our property.

Resident Gate - please don't open the gate for anyone waiting in front of the residential gate unless you confirm (driver's license) that they live in the complex. This is for your safety and the safety of all SummerWind residents. Remember Safety first!

Pool Incident - on June 13th, one of the spas was filled with soap. Soap suds will cause damage to the Jacuzzi filters and negatively affect the chemicals. The end result: additional costs to the /Association. If you see anyone hopping the pool gate/fence, or vandalizing our property, please contact the Torrance Police Department 310-328-3456 immediately.
  • Patio Decks
Please remember to maintain your patio deck: Potted plants need to be up off of the decks, on plant stands, and heavy objects should never to dragged across the deck surface. Place heavy plants on coasters with wheels so that they can be rolled around. Patio furniture and BBQ's should have a rubber pads under the legs. Do not allow water from potted plants to puddle or drain onto the deck surface. Do not cover the deck surface with carpet, astro-turf product or any covering which has a rubber backing. Pets: do not allow pets to scratch or chew the deck surface. Pet waste contains acids which will stain and deteriorate the deck surface. Pet waste must be removed immediately. Please refer to the Deck Maintenance Procedures provided by the contractor during the deck resurfacing project. Need another copy? See Jack in the onsite office. Homeowners may be responsible for any repair costs due to negligence or deliberate non-compliance.
  • Cars Left Unattended By Your Garage
Reminder - do not leave your car parked unattended by your garage. If you are washing your car or unloading items from your car, you may park there for a limited time. You can not leave your car unattended and for an extended amount of time. The streets need to be open for emergency fire vehicles. There are signs that are posted that states the street is a fire lane. Cars parked in the driveway also make it difficult for other residents to get in and out of their garage.
  • Are You Traveling This Summer?
Summer is a time when many people may travel. Before you leave, please make sure to stop your newspaper or ask a neighbor to pick up your paper. This is a sign that you are not home. If you are going to be gone for a couple of weeks you may want to have your mail stopped for that time too! The mailboxes can only hold some much mail. You may want to let your neighbor or friends know where you will be at in case of any emergency someone can get a hold of you. And don't forget the passport requirement for traveling out of the USA - you need a passport!
