  • A Word from Horizon
How to get rid of anything! Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Check out the web site for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works Environment Resources, www.ladpw.org/epd/ - this web site offers information on various recycling programs: household hazardous/universal/e-waste round ups and drop-off locations, beverage containers, used motor oil, medicine and medical sharps. It also offers tips on water management and ways to reduce junk mail. You can also check out the link where people can post listings for items they no longer need but are in good condition and can be used by others.

Please help to keep the association cost down - if you see someone break the barrier arm at either of the entrance gates, please attempt to find out what unit they are associated with so that we can bill the resident for the cost ($100) of replacing the barrier arm. Report the date, time and unit number to Horizon Management or Jack Davidson in the onsite office. Owners are responsible for damages caused by their residents and guests.

Reminder - the streets within the complex are not intended for recreational use. For the safety of all residents, the streets and driveways should not be used as a playground. This includes riding bikes, skateboards, scooters, motorized scooters or playing with any type of balls. Please use the park on the east side of the complex or Wilson Park on Crenshaw Blvd.

As the deck project wraps up, please make sure you have returned all personal items to your patio. Also, personal items are not to be left by or around your garage door area or in the planters. This includes brooms, mops, hoses, etc. Please return garden hoses to your garage when it is not in use.

Neighborhood Watch is the most effective security measure any community can employ. If you ever see suspicious activity within the complex, please contact the Torrance Police Department at 310-328-3456.
  • Traveling over the Holidays?
If you are planning on traveling over the holidays here are some tips to remember:
    1) Stop your newspaper (a sign that you are not home) or ask your neighbor to pick the paper up while you are gone. 2) If you are gone for a long time you can ask the post office to hold your mail delivery and then have them deliver it when you are back, fill out a card at the post office. 3) Have a timer set to have the radio or light turn on. If you are planning on flying you may want to check out www.tsa.gov for what you can or cannot take on the plane.
