Drivers - please drive slowly through out the complex time. If your car is making a screeching sound around the corners it is time to slow down! Watch for children who may dart out from their garages. If you are driving past the 10 mph it is time to decrease your speed. This is for everyone's safety!! Please remind your guests that are visiting you since you are responsible for your guests.
Reminder children should not be playing in the street. The streets within the complex are not intended for recreational use. Please use the SummerWind playground area or nearby Wilson Park.
Parking Permits: Effective Sept. 1, 2009, new hang-tag parking permits are being issued to families with a third vehicle. The previously issued static cling tags are no longer valid. Reminder, garages are to be used for parking, not storage. Vehicles parked in guest parking without a valid permit are subject to citation and fines. Please make sure that you are in compliance with the Association's parking rules so that guests can find a place to park when visiting SummerWind residents.
Letters/Concerns to the Board: If you wish to address the Board in writing, please include your name and unit number. The Board will not consider anonymous letters.
Whiskers & Tails: Have you seen the photos by the mailboxes of the baby ducks that were born here this summer? They are being cared for by Lynne Amano with the organization, Whiskers & Tails. If you would like to help her with the ducks's care, please send a donation to: Lynne Amano, Whiskers & Tails, 2785 Pacific Coast Highway #124, Torrance, CA 90505. Your donation is tax deductible. You can state for the SummerWind Ducks. The web site is www.whiskerstails.org.
Safety Stuff:- If you hear a beeping noise, that means your smoke detector battery needs to be replaced. A good tip: change your batteries when you change your clocks for daylight savings time.
- Air conditioning and furnace filters need to be changed every 30-60 days in order for your AC/Furnace to work properly and be energy efficient. If the air filter is clogged your A-C or Heater may over heat.
- Do you know where to turn off your water valve? Please make sure that you know how to shut off your water located in the back of your garage. Any questions see Jack for assistance.
- Trick or treaters and parents: make sure to take a flashlight, have an adult with you, don't eat open candy, watch for cars when crossing the streets, go to homes with their porch light on and have fun! Eat a good meal prior to trick-or-treating. Consider fire safety when decorating for Halloween. Plan and review with your children the route you plan to take when trick-or-treating. When designing a Jack O' Lantern, leave the carving to adults. Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween.
