- If you haven't RSVP'd for the Home Preparedness presentation by CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) from the City of Torrance, the deadline is August 1, 2009. If we don't have enough interested homeowners signed up, we will have to cancel it the presentation. Please RSVP to Jack at (310) 618-9478. Due to the limited space we must limit it to two adults per unit - sorry children may not attend this event - The event date is Tuesday, August 11 from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Pool Safety: Summer and warm weather is here! Reminder: The hours of the Pool and Jacuzzi are Sunday to Thursday 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 7:00 AM - Midnight. Remember that each Unit can bring only 4 guests to the pool and the unit residents must be present with their guests. Let's keep our community clean and safe. Glass items are not allowed in the pool area.
PET Information for Owners (from the City of Torrance):
The Leash Law:
(TMC 41.1.5) All dogs are prohibited from running at large on any public street, park, alley, court or other public place, or upon any private property or premises, other than that of the dog owner. All dogs must be restrained by a leash not exceeding six feet and be in the control of a competent person when off property. Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
Barking:
(TMC 41.1.2) Dogs are not allowed to bark, howl, whine or make any loud unusual noises which disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of any residential neighborhood. Animal complaints may be filed at the Torrance Animal Control office.
Nuisances:
(TMC 41.1.7) Animals are not permitted to defecate on any public property unless the defecation is picked up and put in a proper trash receptacle.
Licensing:
(TMC 41.3.1) All persons owning or harboring a dog four months of age and older must be currently licensed within the City of Torrance. Licenses are valid for one year from July 1 through June 30 of each year. Dogs not licensed by June 30 of each year are subject to a $20 dollar late fee

- SAVING PRACTICE - AMOUNT SAVED
Fix leaky faucets and plumbing joints - 20 gallons a day
Don't run the hose while washing your car. Use a bucket of water and a quick hose rinse at the end - 150 gallons each time. 1,200 gallons a month for two-car family
Install water-saving shower heads or flow restrictors - 500-800 gallons a month
Run only full loads in the washing machine and dish washer - 300-800 gallons a month
Shorten your showers - 700 gallons a month for one-or two-minute reduction
Use a broom instead of hose to clean driveways and sidewalks - 150 gallons or more each time. At once a week, that's more than 600 gallons a month
Don't use your toilet as an ashtray or waste basket - 400-600 gallons a month
Capture tap water. While you wait for hot water to come down the pipes, catch the flow in a watering can to use later on house plants or your garden - 200-300 gallons a month
Don't water sidewalks, driveway or gutter. Adjust your sprinklers so that water lands on your lawn or garden where it belongs-and only there - 500 gallons a month

- Our City has established a water conservation and water supply shortage and sustainability program and regulations.
Please note the following: No washing down hard or paved surfaces including garages, including but not limited to sidewalks, walkways, parking areas, patios, is prohibited except when necessary and then only be use of a hand-held bucket.
Limits on washing vehicles - using water to wash or clean a vehicle, including but not limited to any automobile, truck, van, motorcycle, boat, trailer, whether motorized or not is prohibited, except by the use of a hand-held bucket or similar container or a hand-held hose equipped with a positive self-closing water shut-off nozzle or device.
Leaks in your home - you need to fix any water that is leaking in your home.
Sprinklers -should you see a broken sprinkler please inform Horizon Management so that it can be fixed immediately.
Homeowners are responsible to comply with this water ordinance and if reported will be subject to fines.
