  • A Word from Horizon
    • Security reminder to all homeowners/renters - if you see someone who does not belong in the complex, please contact the Torrance Police Department at 310-328-3456. We all have to be aware, and take the steps necessary to keep our community safe and secure. This INCLUDES the pool areas - if you live next to one of our pools, your help is needed to maintain and protect our property. Don't wait until it is too late to contact our Torrance Police Department.
Resident Gate - please don't open the gate for anyone sitting in front of the residential gate unless you confirm (driver's license) that they live in the complex. This is for your safety and the safety of all residents. Remember Safety first!
Glass at the Pool – For safety reasons, glass is not allowed in the pool area at any time. Broken glass and bare feet don't go well together.
  • Save the Date
    • Tuesday, August 11 from 6:30-8:00pm, we will have a presentation on "Home Preparedness" presented by CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) from the City of Torrance. This event will be limited to the first 50 homeowners that RSVP for the event. RSVP, by August 1st, to Jack in the clubhouse with the following information, your name, unit number, phone number. Due to the limited space we must limit it to two adults per unit - sorry, children may not attend this event.
  • Patio Decks
    • Many of the patio decks have been completed. Please make sure that when your new deck is finished that you comply with the following: Potted plants need to be up off of the decks to allow air circulation. Moisture trapped between potted plants and the deck surface will cause the waterproofing membrane to deteriorate. Do not drag heavy objects across the deck surface. Patio furniture, BBQ legs, should have a 2" coaster or rubber pads under the legs. Do not cover the deck surface with carpet, astro-turf product or any covering which has a rubber backing. Pets: do not allow pets to scratch or chew the deck surface. Pet waste contains acids which will stain and deteriorate the deck surface. Pet waste must be removed immediately. Please refer to your Deck Maintenance Procedures, which were provided to you by Professional Services Construction. Homeowners may be responsible for any costs due to negligence or deliberate non-compliance.

  • Cars Left Unattended by Your Garage
    • Reminder – not to leave your car parked unattended by your garage. If you are unloading items from your car, you may park there for a limited time. The streets within SummerWind are considered Fire Lanes, and they must be kept clear for emergency vehicles.
  • Are you Traveling this Summer?
    • Summer is a time when many people ravel. Before you leave, please make sure to stop your newspaper or make arrangements to have your paper picked up. Newspapers in the driveway are a sign that you are not home. Also, you may want to have your mail stopped for that time too! The mailboxes can only hold so much mail. You should also let your neighbor or friends know where you will be at in case of an emergency. And don't forget the passport requirement for traveling out of the USA – you need a passport!
  • Got a Dog?
    • Get it licensed! According to the Torrance Municipal Code 41.3.1, the City of Torrance requires dogs to be licensed in our City if the dog is four months of age or has been in the City for more than 30 days. Dog licenses may be purchased on-line from the PetData licensing center at www.petdata.com you may contact PetData at 877-225-7731. You must provide proof of current rabies vaccinations and sterility certificate and pay the appropriate fee; licensing unaltered dogs cost $40 and $20 for an altered dog. Cats are optional. Licensing also assists in identifying lost animals and returning them to their owners. Since November 2004, over 1,000 lost animals have been returned to their owners mostly due to being properly licensed. Questions, call Torrance Animal Control at 310-618-3850.
