  • A Word from Horizon
Join us for the Annual Meeting and Board Election on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 6:30 PM in the Clubhouse. And, if you have not already done so, please return your ballot today! We need 50% of the membership represented in person or by ballot to establish quorum to conduct the meeting.

Power Outage: If there is a power outage, you can still open your garage door manually. On the underside of the garage door (near the motor) there is a string or a red handle to release the opener. Once you have released the opener, you can open the garage door the old fashion way with your hands (Please refer to your owner's manual).

Voices Travel: Did you know that your voice travels while you are on your patio or in the driveway behind your garage? Noise travels in the driveways and courtyards. Please be respectful of your neighbors, and please remind your child about this too.
  • SummerWind - Going Green!
To help conserve water while washing your car: please turn off the water while you are soaping your car. This will help to conserve water, and this will also help your HOA fees down.

Grocery Shopping, etc. - Every year, we go through an estimated 500 billion plastic bags worldwide, and most end up in landfills, in waterways, and floating in tree branches where the wind deposits them. Fortunately, re-usable shopping bags have come a long way since cotton and burlap. Tote your stuff home from the mall or the market with a canvas bag.
  • Installing a Satllite Dish?
Did you know there are guidelines to installing your satellite dish? Please contact Horizon Management for the guidelines or see Jack in the Office. If you or the person installing the dish goes on the roof if will void your roof warranty. Homeowners are not allowed on the roof.

    What you'll need:
    • 1/2 gallon Round ice cream container, clean and dry (you do not need the lid)
    • 2 or 3 sheets of Green construction paper
    • 1 sheet of Yellow or Gray construction paper
    • 1 sheet of Black construction paper
    • Scissors, Ruler, Pen
    • Double stick tape

    How to make it:

    2. Cut out the circle
    3. Use the double stick tape to adhere the circle to the bottom of the ice cream container
    4. Cut a piece of green construction paper to fit around the container. You may need two pieces of construction paper or be able to piece them together
    5. Use the double stick tape to adhere the construction paper around the container
    6. Cut a strip about 2" wide out of the black construction paper
    7. Cut a 4" square out of the gray or yellow construction paper

    11. Add green tortilla chips, if available, and get ready for your feast
